Well another free day for us here so a sleep in for yours truly, and then my better half decided the suitcase wasn’t full yet so it was off to the shops. We ended up at Costco a warehouse style bulk shop and it sold everything from chewing gum to plasma TV’s. It was enormous and very, very cheap. We have now filled the suitcases. I just hope they aren’t overweight.
Tonight we had the Official Tour Banquet and the induction of the Australian Expos Hall of Fame Members. It was a wonderfully balmy evening; we congregated on the grass of the Moose Lodge and had a great BBQ, salads and deserts. It was the time to thank all the American organizers and host families of the tour. As a rookie of the tour I will admit I was unaware of the work that goes into making it such a success. Our American hosts have done an incredible job in the organization and execution of the tour and of course in opening their hearts and homes for us all. As a parent of a tour player I know that all parents at home will be forever grateful to the Redlands for looking after our boys so well and welcoming them as one of your own sons.
The inductees into the Expos Hall of Fame tonight were:
Dan Flanigan (USA)
Elaine Flanigan (USA)
David Quinowski (USA)
Gary Pool (USA)
Brad Hotchner (USA)
Ben Day (AUS)
Tomorrow is the 4th of July Independence Day Celebrations which we will spend with our respective host families and most will go to the Redlands University for the fireworks in the evening.
