Well the games have wrapped up and it was a thrilling day of baseball, one of the hottest we have had and the boys were fired up for wins. Although both games were terribly close both the Redlands teams snuck home in the final innings. That leaves the Expos 18’s winning the series 3-1, and the Expos 16’s went down 2-3. When I get a report from the boys I’ll post them on the web, though it may be another 12 hours as today is a free day and I don’t know where they are.
The Brian Jimenez awards were presented post games; these are presented to the most outstanding players on and off the field and who display the personal qualities encouraged by the Australian Baseball tour.
The recipients were:
Expos 18’s Tom Pascoe
Redlands 18’s Ryne Arnold
Expos 16’s Tim Shaw
Redlands 16’s Ben Nielsen
The recipients and indeed all players of the tour from both sides of the pond are to be congratulated for their performances.
Tonight is a night to kick back and relax after an exhaustive series in hot conditions, though I imagine there may be some enthusiastic Tee Peeing tonight. It is rumored that there was one Expos Coach spied at Wal Mart with clothes under one arm and toilet paper under the other. Now I figure that either he has had too much chilly and needs a change, or he was buying a disguise and paper to go Tee Peeing. I always say where there is “Smoke” there has to be fire.
Well another sleep in tomorrow and a free day before the Banquet dinner.
